.... to have alcoholic drinks on MSC?..

My brother says he read somewhere that you could have beer and wine if you're 18 y.o... I didn't know what to tell him.

We are on our late 30's.. and he was asking for his stepson who will be 19 at time of sailing..

Any idea?

I was on a HAL cruise in the Baltic in july. During the captain's cocktail and on many other occasions my 22 y old daughter was repeatedly asked if she was over 21 y when we ordered a drink. Sometimes she was even refused an alcohol drink. We had to insist that she be served a drink.

So what is the definition of "European" or "US" sailing?

In my opinion a ship sailing in European waters is the same as on European soil! Why do HAL personnel take the attitude of being in American? I find this insulting! I will in the future respond with the question : "does your mother know you are here?" if the question is asked by a young indonesian waiter with facial hair that is not yet ripe enough to be shaven.
