swanlady2000 Posted August 17, 2011 #101 Share Posted August 17, 2011 KC2510 All them dresses are lovely and I wear very similar things to that on formal night - never been into long frocks and much prefer the shorter dress, go with what you like and will get to wear again, save the money for uni (you will need it, believe me!) Longislandtea Posted August 18, 2011 #102 Share Posted August 18, 2011 Border that's really lovely of you. Wish my OH felt the same way about dressing up - I'm trying to get him to get a suit/tux but I've never known someone procrastinate so much!I agree with the majority of posts on here and definitely agree that getting dressed up is half the fun of a cruise. I am, however, disappointed to hear that some people will judge me as 'sad and spoilt' if I don't partake in the black and white themed night. I bought my formal dresses before I read about the themed night, and as a result I have these, neither of which are particularly suitable for a black and white themed night: http://www.maxi-dresses.me.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Coast-Fido-Maxi-Dress.jpg http://debenhams.scene7.com/is/image/Debenhams/120010463045 I have this dress which I may be taking, however it is really not suitable for a formal night, it's a little too short especially at the back so I'd rather not have to wear it. http://images.asos.com/inv/media/3/8/8/7/1347883/image4xl.jpg As a result of this I now feel as though I need to go out and buy another formal dress, despite the fact I may not be going on a cruise again for a few years and happen to be on a very tight budget due to starting university next month. I love all of these dresses and think the black one will be fine on any night.:)
Bispham Boo Posted August 18, 2011 #103 Share Posted August 18, 2011 lovely dresses! I wore a short (knee length) cocktail dress on one formal night earlier this month and a black dress on B&W night, with white silk flowers in my hair. You'll look great.
