No more transaction fee

Just spoke with my OC rep and asked if I still was required to call to be reimbursed for the transaction fee that I would see after my final payment was made next week. I was pleasantly surprised when she said that OC has changed banks and the fee would no longer be charged by my bank. She did say that if a fee appeared I could call her to have a reimbursement via check or OBC. Our first fee of $15 is being turned into an OBC so my wife can enjoy a day in the spa!!

as i understand it, oc was (still is?) processing credit card transactions in ireland. card transactions do not go directly to a bank - they are submitted from somewhere through software to a 'gateway' and ultimately wind up in the bank that you have your account with.

if oc has, in fact, changed where they process transactions, this is good news - at least for us - since citibank charges a 3% fee on non-us transactions and i'm sure other banks do as well.
