Questions on NCL...

Just found this board a few days ago and it's awesome! Lots of great input.

My wife and I are planning on taking a cruise in January 2006. It's been awhile for us (last cruise was to the Bahamas on the Sunward II back in '91 or so). We're pretty sure we want to go with NCL because the previous times were fantastic. My questions...

-We're looking at Eastern or Western Caribbean...any preferences? We're not big on the excursions, but they're not out of the question.

-It looks like the Sun, Jewel, and Dream would be our ships on these cruises. Any opinions on which you like better, and why?

 

Geez, I thought I had a bunch of questions, but now I can't think of them! I guess I'm just looking for opinions in the different itinearies and the different ships.

i was on the Sunward II back in 91 as well. No simple answer to your question but I am sure you will get lots of help.

 

As far as ships my recomendation in order - Jewel, Sun, Dream

 

If you want to cruise out of Miami it will be the Jewel.

 

If you want to cruise out of the Big Easy it will be the Sun

 

From Texas the Dream

 

If you want the Eastern it will be the Jewel

 

All three will handle the Western.

 

If you want to go back to the Sunward II select the Dream

 

If you want to see the new NCL Select the Sun or the Jewel

 

If you want to cruise more for the ship then the ports still the Sun or the Jewel

 

I have cruised on the Dream twice, The Sun twice and will be on the Jewel in September.

 

That said I go back to my original selection in order. I would cruise the Sun again in a second, I would cruise the Dream again for a great deal, and I look forward to the next generation in the Jewel.
