Taxi tours rome

Hi everybody.

we are going to be in rome in september and have been told by friends who have cruised many times that they get a taxi from the port into rome. usually keep the taxi all day, tour round etc.

anyone else done this?

We did a Taxi tour 2 years ago. You get the taxi at the port gates. He originally wanted 60 euro staying with us all day. We bartered him down to 45 euro each although there was 6 of us (adults). But dont accept his first price. There great. No walking as the taxi scoots about the back streets and drops you off right at the attractions and waits for you. Hell take you to a nice cafe for lunch if you ask him. We got the taxi around 9.30 and was dropped off at 5pm. We paid him when he brought us back to the boat.:D

Hi thanks for that info...........makes me feel a bit more confident. I hadn't heard of anyone 1 else doing this. I thought they were making it up:)

The driver was called Max. Italian Stallion. Every photo I have of my wife she seems to standing right next to him. mmmm

Well when he dropped us off we gave him 50 euro each instead of 45 as agreed. He did a good job so he deserved a tip.
