satex Posted March 27, 2011 Author #2776 Share Posted March 27, 2011 Good afternoon SMDers. Well our Mateys are just about to depart Miami and I do hope they have a great time. Kathy - funny you sould talk about planting. I just finished weed & feeding the yard and planting some flowers in the pots that froze this winter. Wow, what a trip y'all have planned. I know about your worries with the price of gas. But on the other hand, you won't be paying for hotels. OK, since it's such a nice day out today, I'm going to BBQ. Brisket and ribs with potato salad, baked beans and strawberry shortcake to top it all off. Hope y'all have a great day:D.
She-ra Posted March 27, 2011 #2777 Share Posted March 27, 2011 OK, since it's such a nice day out today, I'm going to BBQ. Brisket and ribs with potato salad, baked beans and strawberry shortcake to top it all off. Rich - YUM!!! Changed my mind on what's for dinner. Better get something marinating now if I want to have it tonight. Kathy - my mom's the gardener in this family. We've got tulips, crocus, and grape hyacinth enjoying the down pour. By the end of next month the weather will have warmed up enough to enjoy sitting on the deck - when it's not raining. I saw all the different bars - had to get a magnifier to read some of the fine print (guess I could have changed the resolution on my monitor  ). On the other ships there've been 5 bars on Deck 5 so we didn't have to change decks and then we could hit the dance club after. The bar on Deck 4 seems like it's supposed to be a quiet retreat - probably not a good place for our group. Three of the bars are pool bars on Deck 10. Maybe the Tides (aft pool bar) would be the place to start? On deck 5 there is the Hat Trick Casino Bar, the Plaza Bar (which has a dance floor near it), the Red Frog Pub, and the Play It Again Piano Bar. I'm going to really think out the logistics on this one. I'd like to end at the Piano Bar and then turn everyone loose on the dance club. Also have to rethink the trivia questions for each stop. Hope everyone had a good week-end. Gotta go get that marinade started! -Sherri
satex Posted March 28, 2011 Author #2778 Share Posted March 28, 2011 Good evening y'all. Dinner was sooooo good. Sherri - Ya, I think Julie would like the dance bar as she did last Feb. As I remember, I think the dance bar was the last one on the Dream cruise. Anyway, I'm sure you will have everything worked out by next Feb! And since Andrea (our countdown director) if with the Mateys, I will continue the countdown. So, In the meantime let me be the first to say that we have 48 MORE WEEKS UNTIL WE ARE SAILING ON THE MAGIC Take good care all, and remember to play nice :)

Koval Posted March 28, 2011 #2781 Share Posted March 28, 2011 Would it be too late to sign up for this cruise? It would be myself and my husband Pat.:) Heck no, you should jump on it soon, before the prices go up You have hit the jackpot, this is a great group of people to cruise with. You can do as much or as little as you want with the group. as long as you make it your best cruise ever. And that can mean just taking advantage of the discounts the group has to offer and sitting on the deck reading a book for a week to Joining in on every thing that is offered. (not sure it is possible, but I have sure tried in the past) Anyway, I will worn you, once being a part of this group, you may never be the same. The only reason I am going on this particular cruise is for the people, Did the Dream, so the New Ship thing isn't it, Been to the ports for the most part, so that aint it. Yep, it is the people, my sister, daughter, cousin and I all want to sail with our buddies from pasts cruises. Come on along, they (we) will welcome you right in. None of this, we have cruised together before, and not talk to you stuff either... Everyone is welcome to our Family :o)

We have also cruised this itinerary many times due to our close proximity to New Orleans but we have never started a cruise from Galveston. It seems as if ya'll have a great group of people and we would enjoy meeting all of you. Now all I have to do is go back to page one and call the online TA in charge of this cruise. Once again thanks for the welcome.:)

satex Posted March 29, 2011 Author #2790 Share Posted March 29, 2011 Good morning SMDers. I'm doing the midnight shift, so I'm hosting the BCOD club this week:p. Sadie - what more can I say that the rest of the group hasn't said. It's like Marie says, once you become part of this group, you will never want to cruise without them again:D (even though a bunch went off and left us behind. lol). I just want to say again, with this group you can just join up to get the great price with the OBC or y'all can join in on the fun. One thing this group will do is keep you busy, if you want. As you can see, we have alot of things planned both on board and excursions at each port. So, call Johna, book the cruise and come sail away with us;). Madelene - I know that you really wanted to do this one with all the others, but you get to go to Europe later this year, so that will make up for missing this one. Even so, It would have been nice to be on board with the Matey's. Marie - hope your feeling better (it sounds as if you are). Thanks for filling in for me. Vicki - We are the ones that can't wait to meet you and Kimi:eek:. Kathy - did ya get all the planting that you want done? I still have more, but that can wait until the weekend. OK, gang, its almost 5am. Time to get moving!!! (that's me, not y'all). Have a great day.

Koval Posted March 29, 2011 #2794 Share Posted March 29, 2011 Remember Sadie, when you get the pricing, that includes Gov and Port Fees. plus the OBC of $100 (Non refundable) we just use this towards our Gratuities. So really our CC Group cruise is a better offer than many think. They look at the pricing on Carnival, but don't go as far at adding the Taxes and fees, or take into account the OBC. And say we are paying more, and we are not. And the prices are only going to go up as the date gets closer.
ooulio Posted March 29, 2011 #2795 Share Posted March 29, 2011 I have been talking to my husband and brother about this cruise. Have them half way changed their minds. They are not as bad as before about coming. We maybe still coming. My brother wants to cruise out of either Pt Canaveral or Galveston (which we have never done). I wanted any of Florida. I just kinda wanted 4 ports but I guess when you have a group like this one, I could do 3. I really enjoyed the ones I traveled with last year on Dream. Anyone give me any tips so I can persuade them. My brother and his wife are flying in from Seattle . That is why he doesn't want to go out of Ft Lauderdale because the flight is longer. NMCruiser55 Posted March 29, 2011 #2796 Share Posted March 29, 2011 I forgot how much stuff has been planned. :) Rich - the planting has been done. Now I have to hide the chain saw and reciprocating saw. He is now attacking more dead and semi dead trees and bushes. He's only allowed attack plants for one more week. He is to heal from all the scratches before our trip.

Oh Esther you Troll:eek:, Those people on the main boards can just be so nasty some times... As for your Brother and his wife, tell them to come a day early like the rest of us, and if they are using Alaska Air, they could very well be on our same flight. For the Dream Cruise we had Janet, Judie, Steve, Julie, Sherri, Dale, Chelle and I...Not pre planned either. Crazy I know :D and only 3 of them live in Washington... (when I say that see Nick doing the hard work, and me on the tractor) I will say I got my little green house cleaned up yesterday, so now I need a good day of sunshine, so I can clean all the gutters, and such. I bought new Panels, The wind, snow, rain, killed a bunch of the top ones. Blow them out and semi mangled a couple. This time We are going to caulk them in...See if that works better. Rain and snow not as big a problem, as the wind taking them for a ride to the neighbors house hit tree after tree on the way  we do have Tomato seeds planted in the sun room, that gets no sun, because we live in Oregon :p They should be sprouting any day now. Ok, enough of that. It is pouring out now, maybe I should clean a room today :o)
