has anyone stayed at the radison located at 1369 ashford ave.. we will be there on friday the day before our cruise leaves and was wondering if hotel is a clean and safe place.. and also, how far from the hotel to old san juan and the to pan american pier.. and if anyone has any sugestions of what we should do for dinner on friday evening..

The Radisson is a nice clean average hotel. I enjoyd their casino It is a couple of miles from old San Juan. It is relatively safe to walk around as there is a heavy police presence, but still be careful especially at night as there is a lot of seedy characters in the area. There is a Burger King next door. We ate at a local restaurant called something Star that was very good and reasonably priced. FYI, most restaurants add the tip in automatically. There is no tax.

You are close to a restaurant we ate at while in Puerto Rico that I can't recommend highly enough - Ajili Mojili:

Scroll down to the bottom and click on the link for the menu. It is a more expensive restaurant, but the meal I had there (filete al caldero) was quite possibly one of the best meals I have ever had.
