Hey there... what is the most effecient and perhaps economical way (considering we'll be lugging luggage with us) to get from:

  • ERW (new jersey airport) to our Times Square Hotel in the evening?
  • From our Times Square Hotel to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal?
  • From the Cruise Terminal back to ERW (new jersey airport) for a late 6pm departure? Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your help with this!!!

from EWR to times square hotel...prearrange a car service(about $60...see http://www.carmellimo.com as an example).

the least expensive easy way is to take the bus to the port authority bus terminal at 41st street and eighth avenue and then a cab...for a total of about $45.00...

from the times square hotel to BCT a yellow cab(have the directions with you) for about $30-35.(take the Brooklyn battery Tunnel to brooklyn take the first exit hamilton Ave and follow the signs.. Blue signs that say Cruise terminal...)

from the BCT to EWR a local car service I use Arecibo 7187836465...call as you are getting off the ship...about $55.00

The Newark airport bus will be $15/pp from Newark to Port Authority. Luggage goes underneath, so you don't have to haul it up onto the bus. Where is your hotel exactly? It might be possible to walk if you can roll your luggage. I don't think a cab would be as much as $15 if your hotel is really near Times Square.

What are you going to do all day with a 6 pm departure? You can take a cab back to Manhattan, store your luggage at Schwartz Travel, and get a few hours in midtown before you take the bus back to Newark Airport. Figure $30-35 for a cab back to midtown and $30 for bus back to Newark plus $7-10/bag for storage.

Thanks everyone for your responses! We will have been in NYC for a week previous, so we probably will not want to go back into Manhatten.

Does anyone have any experience with checking in for flights early at the airport and going to a lounge? Or a hotel daypass at Newark?

Or do the cruises lines off a post-cruise tour and drop you off at the airport?

Any other suggestions? :)

Thanks again!
