Gev Posted September 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2011 We are on the Avalon Rhine River Cruise September 25, 2011. We will need European adapters for our small electric appliance, eg. chargers, razors, curling iron, etc. Do we also need the electric convertors? The adapters are cheap but not the convertors. Can someone answer this. GEV
Big Al B. Posted September 14, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2011 You will need the adapters. There may be a plug in the bathroom that takes your electric razor without one, but the other plugs are the European kind. It depends on your gizmo as to whether you need the converter or not. If it says it is a dual voltage (110-220 or 240) then you won't need the converter. If it only is 110, you will. Usually this information is printed in small print somewhere on the appliance, often molded right into it.

We just got back from a Grand Circle trip last night and they had a couple converters to lend.
