Taxi Question

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a flat fee charge to take a taxi from the French Quarter to the pier. It seems that two years ago we stayed at a hotel and had to pay about $30 for that cab ride to the pier for just a half-mile ride. Thanks for the help.:o

No, I don't believe there is a flat fee. The fare you paid sounds high, but it might have been due to charges for bags or extra people?
