taxi cost?

were arriving at miami airport and weve booked a hotel in fort lauderdale planning on getting a cab anyone done this? rough costing and time of journey? thanks

journey approx 45mins/1hr

 

 

 

We travelled from Ft Lauderdale Hilton Marina - to MIA - using Supershuttle.......

 

$64 total for 2 people...usually a shared van but we were the only passengers

 

 

....bit of a white knuckle ride with a mad driver (took less than 30 mins!) but suited us fine.....recommended

Or catch the free bus at miami airport to the tri-rail train $3.75 to ft.laud. cab to ft.laud. hotel. We stayed at fairfield inn across the street from the station in ft.laud. Easy to walk to. Next morn. called a cab to port. $16.00 for two.

Forget about the train. Ridiculous for people with luggage. Perhaps you can do it, but most cannot.

 

To the OP: A taxi should run in the vicinity of $80. Super Shuttle is the better and less expensive option.

We've rented a car for about $65 (each way), pre and post cruise. Picking up at Miami and dropping off at FLL, then the other way around post cruise. Use Costco or Entertainment card for best rates.

If you can handle your luggage. Go the Tri-rail route. Most hotels will pick you up, at the tri-rail, or go to the airport in Fort lauderdale.

What hotel are you staying in re cruise? We are staying in Miami at the Dorall have been told the taxi is expensive we plan to take shuttle, even tho we will board slightly later.

Can you tell me how you get on please. We are on the Eme:oraled on the 29th Oct.

OP, head to the Florida departures board and you'll get all kinds of specific info there re the port, hotels, transportation, costs etc.
