In Barbados do you need a international license to drive? Also can you rent a car at the pier?

I am researching car rental myself, and have personally walked by the Stoutes car rental area at Barbados pier. It is just down a bit as exit the cruies termial buildig. Right by a few seller stalls, outdoor bar and before the taxi stand exit.

I looked on website- one needs a Barbados driving permit $5, they drive on left side and do use roundabouts. Still trying to decide as some roads not well marked, traffic congestion and may op for idea of a private taxi tour instead.
