1st Time Cruiser - Black Sea Serenade

We did Black Sea Serenade last summer. We loved our veranda! We enjoyed watching the busy harbors, and will never forget sailing away at Odessa and waving back at the crowd that had lined up along the pier to see us off! I took a great photo of the Potemkin steps from our veranda, too!

 

Our only tender was in Nessebur, Bulgaria. We missed docking in Sochi, Russia because the sea was too rough to handle it. Sad, but those things happen!

 

I hope you are on the trip and I KNOW you will love it!! I am even a bit jealous!

Thanks JHT28 and Aruba. That's good to hear. It makes me feel better about not having a balcony and using the money elsewhere. Is there an advantage to the even side versus the odd side? It would seem that the even side sees the land and the odd the water starting in Athens, but perhaps I'm wrong. I have no experience.

Apart from when you're pulling into or out of a port or when you're traversing the Dardenelles and Bosporus strait, you'll be too far from land to see anything anyway. And even there you can see everything you need to see from either Horizons, the Promenade Deck, or the deck above the pool and save yourselves a lot of money in the process.

We did the Black Sea last July. It is absolutely fabulous as mentioned previously. Start your research early....there's a lot to research and many excellent private guides in the area. We were pleased with our private guides. I posted a lot of information on last year's August roll call. You might be able to search and see what I posted. Enjoy.
