Now booking Stonehenge tours through 9/12

Had an email today from the Londontoolkit to let me know that tours to Stonehenge were now available from tour operators (and I guess everyone). I was impressed to be informed as I was looking for a "special access" tour (first or last in the day that lets you right up to the stones). I had been told they usually do not open until after the first of the year as you have to actually apply to get this special access.

Anyhow, since our days in London are set in stone, I took advantage of the advice and booked.

Given the Olympics are this summer I really wanted to plan ahead of the crowd.

It is well worth the trouble to get up close and personal. Viewing it from a distance is just not the same.

All being well, the new £25m visitor centre will be open in July 2012 - not before time either.
