Just back from PV, Cabo and Mazatlan

In PV, our daughter did the Canopy tour and loved it---AGAIN! We did this before and it was great. While she was on the early tour with friends, we went to downtown via taxi and had a great breakfast at Luna's, across from the Malecon. We went browsing through art galleries and got some great jewelry at Sergio Bustamante's---he is the artist who did the bronze scuptures on the Malecon. We met our daughter and friends for a great lunch at Pipi's, and then we walked along the beach front past the square, eventually ending up at the Rio Cuale for the kids to bargain with the merchants.

In Mazatlan we took the water taxi on our own to Stone Island. This was very easy to do, and cost only $1 per person round trip. We decided to spend the day on loungers with umbrellas at Pili's, near Victor's. There was no charge for the loungers, but of course we ordered food and beer from there and it was great! Rudy was our host, and he was wonderful.

In Cabo we took a water taxi from the Marina to the Melia hotel on Medano beach, and made arrangements through the front desk to use the facilities for the day. We paid $25 per person, which was credited towards food and drink. The beach and pool area are really lovely, and the food was great. The teens loved using the jet skis on the beach just next to the hotel. The beach for the hotel was roped off, so we were not bothered by vendors.

Hope this info helps in your tour planning! This was our 4th time to these ports and we prefer doing it on our own in this fashion. If you want a beach day in PV, go to Mismaloya by cab---it is beautiful. We do not like the Golden Zone in Mazatlan, although many people apparently do. We don't like it because of the congestion, agressive vendors, and aggressive time share people---even by the El Cid.
