white duck Posted October 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Does anyone happen to know if the mini -suites bathrooms are due to be replaced or refurbished during the forthcoming refit. We sailed on Oriana a couple of years ago and our bathroom was looking very tired and battered. We are off to the Caribbean in April on her in the same cabin, so it would be nice to know it going to be smartend up. Thanks for your help. southwinds Posted October 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2011 Often with a refit .. curtains carpets.. get replaced.. so my guess is any jobs will be done... I dont recall them saying bathrooms but that dosnt mean they wont be done. I doubt they will replace them often its just a good clean and repair. Sutho Posted October 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2011 I believe the refit is mainly to install new balcony cabins in place of the existing childrens club and to make the ship adult only. There will also be other new features added. As far as the bathrooms are concerned they could be looking brand new again with a bit of muscle power and strong cleaning chemicals. I doubt that any cruise line would want to pull out all the bathrooms and replace them.
white duck Posted October 26, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Thanks for your replies. I haven't seen replacing the bathrooms mentioned anywhere either. Our washbasin and bath had really nasty cracks and scratcheslast time so I really hoped they would be up graded during the refit, after all most hotels would not expect bathroom fittings to last 16years. I must add cleanliness was not an issue as it was kept very clean. I can still hope. Nick.
