Member Posted October 28, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 28, 2011 Northeast regions along Genoa to Pisa, especially the Cinque Terre towns got hitting hard. Any first-hand experience there? Hope the Savona's operation is fine.
Capricruiser Posted October 29, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2011 Genoa and the Liqurian coast to the west were not touched by the flooding. Savona is fine.
kuldalai Posted November 2, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2011 La Spezia and the Cinque Terre hit by huge torrential downpours. On the CT the towns of Monterosso and Vernazza were the hardest hit with local flooding and mudslides. Cars washed out to sea, streets full of mud and water. Monterosso and Vernazza were totally isolated for some days as mudslides also closed the lifeline railway running along the coast .

jonathan518 Posted November 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted November 10, 2011 Any update on Savona? I am freaking out about the weather, I am leaving on a 10 night cruise on November 21. Have the seas been extremely rough?
Capricruiser Posted November 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted November 11, 2011 Any update on Savona? I am freaking out about the weather, I am leaving on a 10 night cruise on November 21. Have the seas been extremely rough? According to the Italian meteo, this morning on the Ligurian coast the skies are partly cloudy to clear and the sea is almost calm. Forecast for the next few days looks good. Don't freak out! ;)
