Galveston, Harbor View Inn??

Has anyone stayed here?? There is a group of 13 going on the Elation 6/26/05 and all of the Galveston hotels are really expensive (summer season)

As far as hotels offering the parking deal, Harbor View Inn on Ferry Rd/2.5miles from Port has the best deal @ 99.95/rm. We will need 3-4 rooms and will have 3 vehicles. We don't need anything fancy but will the cars be relatively safe there while we are cruising?

They should be safe there, it's in a residential area right by the ferry landing.

You need to take the Boliver Ferry, it's the best free intertainment in Galveston.

Just park down at the landing and walk on board, the boats are quite large and have observation areas. They travel 3 miles over to the Boliver Peninsula and back across Galveston Bay. Just stay on the boat while they unload/reload the cars. You may see some Dolphins, and take some bread or corn chips along, go back to the stern when the boat pulls out, and feed the Laughing Gulls on your way.

How are you getting to Galveston? If driving, there are a couple of great Hampton Inns a half-hour or so up the interstate close to the space center.
