1959kar Posted March 18, 2014 #126 Share Posted March 18, 2014 My favorite is Miami with NY a close second, both are awesome ports
Toesinthewater728 Posted March 18, 2014 #127 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I have only been three cruises and all I am certain of is that I did not enjoy Miami. Sailing out of San Juan on the cruise was incredible, it felt like an invasion moving past those forts! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Ciardasully Posted March 18, 2014 #128 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I loved sailing out of NY and sailing down the Manhatten skyline and by the Statue of Liberty.
iSpark Posted March 18, 2014 #129 Share Posted March 18, 2014 While our favorite Departure Port is Charleston, SC, none of our favorite ships or cruise lines depart from there. :(LuLu ~~~~ I agree. :(
grumpyjr88 Posted March 18, 2014 #130 Share Posted March 18, 2014 So far, Galveston is my favorite. It is very organized and the employees are friendly. I also have family in Houston so it makes it easy to visit with them before heading out.
bluehenfan01 Posted March 18, 2014 #131 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I loved leaving out of Baltimore! Very convenient since i live in Delaware and embarkation took only about 30 minutes to check in and get on the ship! Would totally do that port again! Rare CTCruisers Posted March 18, 2014 #132 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Leaving NYC from Manhattan with the NY skyline, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and then going under the Varrazano Bridge with the ship blasting her horn and everyone letting out a whoop as our cruise vacation has started. My number two would be Venice, Italy. The ships tower over the buildings of that special one-of-a-kind city. That will be changing as they are trying to ban the mega ships from using that port. The ban started in January, but a judge may be revoking it.
sandij Posted March 19, 2014 #133 Share Posted March 19, 2014 I have to say Civitavechio only because that means I've been to Rome. We're lucky to live in south Florida and be close to four major ports, they all have their good and bad points, but best of all is they all have cruise ships waiting to take me away. Aldeya Posted March 19, 2014 #134 Share Posted March 19, 2014 New York! Every time we sail from NY it is getting quiet on a ship when we pass Ground Zero... and it always takes your breath away when you sail by Statue of Liberty.

mzloolue Posted March 19, 2014 #136 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Here is a photo from our Venice Sail Away two years ago...we were on the maiden voyage of the Breeze. It is not the best photo as we were in an aft wrap on the wrong side of the ship, so when we passed St Marks square, I had issues with the bright sun. You pass by some of the oldest churches and buildings in Europe.....We will never forget the sail away though...absolutely incredible!!! That is lovely. I liked sailing from Mobile a lot. But now it's New Orleans.
