Boo-Hoo, Can I cry on your shoulder?

I am one of the luckiest gals on the planet, but will you still allow me to cry on your shoulder? Please allow me a few minutes for it is the first time in nine years that I have not cruised during this April week. I watched my cruise videos last night and I still feel blue. I looked at my cruise photos and I still feel blue. I emailed my cruise friends and I still fee blue. I have two land vacations booked (I told you I am a very lucky gal) yet I still feel blue because I have no future cruise booked. Somebody please help me before I start parading around the house in my cruise formalwear...Boo-hoo-hoo. I could be heading towards the sunny Caribbean right now but instead I am still bundled up in my fleecewear watching the Boston Bruins V. Montreal Canadians ICE HOCKEY playoffs on espn...Boo-hoo-hoo! Hi there,
Don't cry...life is too short.

I am not going on a cruise until August and I am sooooooooo excited about going that sometimes I think it will never get here already. But to help you out, what I do to get rid of my feelings of "when will I get to go on a cruise too!", I just close my eyes and dream about it. It really does work. You just close your eyes and picture yourself walking up the plank and entering the ship. The cruise staff greets you with a smile and you go to check out your beautiful cabin. Now you can take it anywhere you want. I usually head right for the pool deck for a comfy chair and a pina colada. This can help. Please let me know if it worked for you too.

Patti

ps...GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!!

This board is also the best place for dreamers!

The people here share so many great stories, details, and photos that you feel like you could just see the fun experiences they have had.

Well, are you smiling yet????

Dear Lemanja'
I feel your pain, my long planned and anticipated cruise fromm Honolulu to Vancouver scheduled for May 2nd was cancelled. I'm going to have a land vacation in Hawaii instead so I'm not getting much sympathy from people around here.
"oh, poor you , you have to go to Hawaii for 10 days that's so terrible" seems to be the type if comment I usually get.
But great as Hawaii will be (I hope) it is not a cruise. I'm sure it will be fun but it won't be the same so I'm a little sad
You could cheer yourself up a bit by looking at the on line cruise sites and planning your next cruise. (Even if you can't set an exact date and book it yet) You could look at different ships and itineries and decide where you would really like to go for your next cruise, whenever it becomes possible. I call it the vicarious vacation. Then when you are able to cruise again your research will be all done. Plus, after looking at all the possibilities you'll be in a great position to reconize a real bargain when it comes along.

C'est bon finis pour le rouge et le blanc! Jeu sept a' la Boston en soir de lundi!

Mikenpat, thanks for the shoulder and advice! I find myself doing that a lot! We need to get more cruise reviews here so the vicarious experiences can continue! You are going to have a blast in Bermuda!

Thank you too for a shoulder, Gardencat! I read about your canceled plans and felt really bad for you. I hope this cheers you up...from what I hear...a land vacation in Hawaii is a lot better than a cruise vacation in Hawaii. I know people who have done both and their opinion is that the land package is the way to go. I know it does not compensate for your financial loss, though, so that is still unfortunate. I know you will have fun regardless, as you previously posted! Good luck with the trip!

I suppose I will just daydream as if I was cruising. For example, if I was cruising right now, I would be heading towards the disco to dance (If I was in Montreal right now, I would be heading to the disco to dance too)!!

Oh well, I will just finish eating my Klondike Bar... Gardencat, I attended my first Canadiens V. Bruins game this season. Although I live in America, I spend many weekends in Montreal.

SuzyQ, thanks for the shoulder and for the advice! I have 63 more points to go until my NCL MBNA credit card reaches 1000! I am so close but so far away!

I am still boo-hooing! Today was horrible! Instead of laying out in the sun on sea day, I was raking last year's leaves and weeds all day long. I piled them into the garden area and lit them on fire. I thought, "hmmm, I wonder if the fire on NCL's barbecue grill is this high." I thought my hubby was inside cooking pork ribs (just as they do on ncl) only to find out he ate leftovers and went to bed! So, I had cold cereal with a couple of stawberries for dinner.

After that I thought if I was on a ship right now, I would probably be in the salon. So, I went and got a bucket of warm water and soaked my feet in it. Oh yeah, I added a little sea salt to get the full effect. I dont know, it just isn't working!

I better go...it is now thundering outside with lots of lightning bolts. So, instead of going to a show I am going to bed. I have to work tomorrow. Boo-Hoo-hoo!

Still crying for crying out loud!

Lemanja...Maybe since we are doing the "land" thing with the other two....this will give us more "sea" days for the rest of the year and next. You never know.

While you were outside raking the leaves you should have had one of those great pool side drinks. Oh Yeahhhhhhhhh

Okay, I feel much better now! I am done crying! Although I had to work until 9:30pm tonight (even though 99.9% of everyone I work with and for are on vacation this week), it was absolutely beautiful outside today! I took a break from work and my car registered a balmy 82 degrees! I thought I was in the Caribbean! Not only that, I gave myself tomorrow and Wednesday off to end my misery! I landed an Aerosmith concert ticket a' la Montreal so I am out of here first thing tomorrow! I may even go out dancing afterwards! Hmmmm, maybe I can charge enough shopping so that I reach my 1000 points next month. Ocean, you are too funny and I thank God that you are my friend! Know that I will p.m.a.o. for the both of us in celebration of your birthday! Now let's see if this night can get even better by checking out who won the hockey game tonight! Thanks for all of the shoulders...I hope that I can return the favor should the occasion arise!

Back to Normal,
