You needed a snappy comeback to deal with the tactless person who thought you were part of the crew. ("Yes, we're from the home office and you're fired.")

 

On our last cruise, my wife and I travelled with two females who had surprise visits from their butler. After the first few times they just pulled the covers up in bed and laughed about it. Hopefully none of the other comments (bedding) or oversights (dining room escort) soured you on the cruise. They don't sound mean-spirited.
