80 Wolfpacker Posted June 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2005 We were on the the Explorer last week (May 22-29) and we decided to book the Helicopter Tour at Grand Cayman from the ship shore excursion desk. The tour was awesome. We have been to Grand Cayman many times and wanted to try something new (although we loved our trips to snorkle and also dive with the stingrays). The helicopter trip was worth every penny! We could see southern stingrays and eagle rays from the sky. We saw a group of circling sharks as well. We flew over the ship and got fantastic photos! Jerome and his lovely wife Natalie are from France - they own this relatively new company. They were very enthusiastic about showing off this beautiful island. One tip - if you walk across the street from the pier, you can book the helicopter tour for $95 per person. We booked it through the ship at around $138, and by doing so, you are guaranteed to get to fly - weather permitting. You can make reservations online directly with Cayman Isalnds Helicopters or get more information from their web-site: www.caymanislandshelicopters.com  This was the highlight of our port adventures. I have never flown in a helicopter before, and I found it to be peaceful and beautiful!
Guest pinkburro Posted June 6, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2005 we also took the helicopter tour and it is just as advertised. the bird could take six passengers but there were only four of us with the aviator. jerome and natalie are, indeed, good hosts and answered a hundred questions. we recommend it...pinkburro
