I'm on the Dawn 4/18-4/25 right now

Hi everyone!

I'm on the Dawn right now and I figured I'd give you a few tidbits before I get back.

Pros...

Service has been excellent, staff is great

Ship is very pretty,

The hand sanitizers in every restaurant and before you board (what a great idea!),

The food has been great,

Bamboo-could't get sit at hibatchi, had to have regular table. Food was good, not as good as our local Japanese.

Le Bistro- Best meal so far! Had the "Fire Starter"

Aqua & Venentian- both good (loved the decor in Impressions)

Garden Cafe- standard cruise buffet, nothing special

Salsa-excellent food and service

Cabin- (minisuite) ok size, GREAT bathroom

Cons...

Kids Crew-my daughter isn't too thrilled, doesn't compare to RCL, CCL, or Princess.

Port times-Nassau was a waste (7am-2pm, which is really 8am-1:30pm)

Gotta go now, I'll check back either later or tonight if anyone has any questions.

Enjoy your cruise, stay off the internet. Just kidding. I hope you are having a great time. I just wanted to ask someone who is on board or who has recently been on, do they still offer the unlimited photo package the first two nights of the cruise. Also, are the prices in the specialty restaurants still up ($15 for Le Bistro)? Thanks. Happy cruising.

Hi Happytravels,

As far as the tour's do they still have the Dolphin Encounter in Nassu and also Swim with the Dolphins in Miami? My son's are interested in them. Thank's and enjoy the rest of your cruise.

We are sailing on Aug. 22, 2004

We tried to book the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau (with NCL and directly) but it was booked the whole month of April so you better book now for May.

Le Bistro is $15.00.

No photo packages anymore. I asked the staff about it, too.

Cruise director is Ricky, but this was his last cruise on the Dawn.

The lounge chair situation is the same as every other ship...all the chair hogs are out in full force. Now I just take towels off chairs and sit down. I've never had someone come back and say it was their chair.

There were 2700 passengers. 800 were children.

The dancers in the Jean Ann Ryan company are very talented, but I thought the shows were not that great.

I spent most evenings in the casino after going to the show. We didn't really do much dancing except the 80's night in the Spinnaker lounge.

Curious how you found traveling the waters of the Atlantic to be. I just booked Dawn and that is definitely what I am nervous about!

Explorer of the Seas (Western Caribbean) 12/7/02

Serenade of the Seas (Canada) 9/25/03

Majesty of the Seas (Bahamas) 2/16/04

Norwegian Dawn (Bahamas) 2/20/05

Until we sail the Dawn!
