I wanted to write this review to cover a bit more on CoCo Cay and just general thoughts on the Monarch. Though it is a short cruise and the ship is very old I feel the employees make the trip worth wild.

Day 1

A little background on me, I live in Middle GA and I booked this trip less than 7 days till departure as a birthday present from my children. I got a fantastic deal on a inside stateroom 6533 and could not pass it up plus I wanted to try cruising alone so I figured this would be a safe bet since I was familiar with the Monarch and had been to Nassau and CoCo Cay before. To add to the adventure, I decided to drive down the morning of and use the park and cruise lot before you get to the port. I left home at 5 a.m. and after a couple of stops I was at the Park and Cruise lot @ 11 a.m. I found the lot to be very easy to get to, convenient and cost saving. I made reservations on line on Saturday to get the price of $6.99 a day and paid $37.05 total up front. After checking in they loaded my bag on the bus and waited while I parked. There were no other cruisers there and I was sure they would ask me to wait until more showed up but they didn’t! They took me right over and dropped me off.

I arrived at the port around 11:30 am and was excited to see no line outside! I figured all was going my way and surely my vaca would be starting soon at the windjammer! UUUUhhhmm no. Once I got upstairs everyone was still in chairs waiting to get on board. Oh well, it only took minutes for me to get checked in – no lines – then off to wait. They started boarding priority about 1230 -1245 and I made it on board a little after 1. I do not know what the delay was and I heard several people ask but I never heard why. Of course since there was a delay getting on there was a delay getting into rooms. I was able to get to mine on deck 6 at 1:45. After dropping my carry on I headed off to the windjammer for lunch. I found the food to be good and filling. After lunch, I took a tour of the spa and took a few pictures of the Christmas decorations that were up.

would love more info on the park and cruise in regards to when you got back, did they wait to fill up the shuttle before taking you back, we have some time contraints on the monday we get back and trying to average how long it will take to get us back as we both have to work that day.:(

great review so far looking forward to the pics thanks

Call park n cruise and explain your situation. They are very accomondating and when we used them there was almost no waiting on either the drop off or the pickup after the cruise.
