Help me write a poem for Christmas

I going on a cruise on Legend in April with my Son, Grandson and Daughter in Law. They picked the ship and date already due to their spring break from school and they think that when they come home to my house for Christmas that we are going to book it and pay the down payment and book excurisons.

 

They don't know that I have booked the cruise already and paid their down payment which will be most all their Christmas and their Anniversary gift which falls in December as well. Also for Christmas I'm giving them some money toward the rest of the payment due.

 

So I have purchased 3 cruise ship ornaments and have 3 Christmas tins to put them in their stockings and need a poem for them to read out loud broken into three parts to let them know I've booked and paid downpayment and that is anniversay & part of Christmas plus XXXX amount of $ for Christmas toward the balance due.

 

My brain can't even think so I thought I would ask my Cruise Critic family to help.

So far here goes.

'Twas the night before planning our cruise

When all through Granny's house not a clue

The stockings were hung by the fireplace with care

In hopes something would be there

Marcy -- hope you don't mind, I ignored your opening.

 

Son -- A cruise for Spring Break, a glorious vacation we'll take, I pray the money will be there, to pay our exorbitant fare, or our plans will be up in the air!

 

DIL -- We really don't know, How far our money will go, But (fate/God?) will provide, And time's on our side.

 

DGS -- But (Granny/Mimi?) has a secret, and it was really hard to keep it! She whispered to me, We're covered you see, The plans have been made, initial fees have been paid, We can relax and chill, (Granny, Mimi?) is helping foot the bill!!

and fight the crowds each day.

Just buying more toys, for good girls and boys

Who say thanks and then toss them away.

 

The time has come, I’ve said to some,

To put an end to this folly.

The season at hand is one that is grand,

And all involved should be jolly.

 

So let out a cheer, ‘cause your gifts for this year

Have inspired this poetic tale.

We’ll meet at the dock, and take that short walk,

And as a family we will all set sail.
