Where does Legend of Seas dock in Phuket?

Recommended Posts

Is anyone able to convey location of where the Legend of the Seas anchors for tender when it arrives in Phuket? We shall be arriving into Phuket on December 31 (NYE) 2011 (in a couple of weeks) and would like to organise a transfer from the tendering arrival location. This of course will depend on where the ship actually docks and whether it is within walking distance to Patong (Bangla Road area). If close enough to walk, then there will be no need to organise a transfer. Any help/advice, would be much appreciated.:):):)

Yes, we too are looking forward to this cruise. It's always so much better when celebraing NYE!

We also have our 13 year old son with us and are hoping that there will be other teenagers his age on board.

Seems like nobody can tell me about where the ship is tendering in Phuket so at this point, I might just call Royal Caribbean and get them to tell me!

We don't intend to do much in Phuket as we have been there twice already this year but are keen to visit our usual massage place and have a nice meal somewhere.

Looks like a fun ship and plenty of lounges etc so don't think there'll be much time to be bored at all!

So, let the countdown begin ... we'll be cruising out of Singapore in 2 weeks! YEH!!!!!!!:):D:p

I'm not sure I would trust whatever rccl tells you - the phone agents often don't know the answer to questions like this, or when they do they are sometimes wrong. We stopped in Phuket on legend in 2009, and while I don't remember the exact location of the dock (we had a private tour that picked us up dockside) I do recall that there wasn't much of anything at the port except for a little flea market that had been set up for the tourists. I think everything of interest is a taxi ride away. A fellow on tripadvisor says to ignore the dockside taxis and go just outside the terminal to grab one, and know what you want to pay. He said he spent about 35 for a minibus for 6 to patong.

Or, you could just arrange a private tour. We rode elephants, got a tour to a couple temples and the big Buddha, and had a nice oceanfront lunch for our tour - it was a grand day, and not too expensive as I recall since we had about 12 people.

At any rate, I think you should not expect just to be able to stroll to your destination.

Thanks for your suggestions. We have actually been to Phuket 4 times and have done all the touristy things so we are just happy to have stroll around Bangla rd and have a massage at our usual place. We do have a driver that we've used in the past and could email him and let him know the date we arrive etc., ... I'm sure he will be able to locate the disembarkation point so, I think that seems like the most logical plan. Looking forward to this cruise and a bit of R&R. Cheers and thanks again.:):)

I can't believe it's only one week until Xmas and only 9 days until we fly out. We're also flying out on the 27th and spending one night in Singapore. We've booked the Singapore Flyer for the dinner which looks amazing. Yes ... your idea of cocktails appeals to me! We're thinking of getting the drinks package onboard as Legend offers this. We can't prebook online so we need to book it when we get onboard. You pay around $45-$50per day and drink all you want - includes wine, beer, cocktails etc. We did this on our mediterranean cruise on the Equinox earlier this year and saved ourselves big bucks. We had originally booked the wine package on LOS but have cancelled it because the drinks package includes everything and wine! There are only 3 Royal Carr. ships that offer the drinks package to date and we're lucky that LOS is one of them. When you're paying around $7 for a cocktail and $40 for a 'drinkable' bottle of wine, it's worth it! Must get some packing done ... the excitement is really starting to kick in!!! See the two of you onboard. Cheers. Rosa & Graham:):):)

Hi,

as we're cruising onboard Legend in February, I am very interested in the drop off location in Phuket.

Our cruise docs say Legend will be tendered in Phuket.

Where have you finally been dropped off? Was it walking distance from Patong beach?

Thank you so much in advance for your feedback!

Hi Tooney,

Legend did dock in Patong beach so you will be right there, I have been reading some comments on the food on the legend as we just got off a couple of day ago the food was mostly Asian and Indian as there was 38 diffrent countries on board only 220 australians out of 1905 most of the crew were Asian as this boat caters for the Asian market but in saying that they do find it hard to under stand you :( The shows are all in english the Casino is always pack and they allow them to smoke in there as well as the viking lounge but over all the cruise was very good if you want to know anything else feel free to just ask :) take care
