Jacquelyn11 Posted April 15, 2005 #201 Share Posted April 15, 2005 Just a sidenote.....2 weeks ago there were over 1400 kids onboard, last week there were 1200 kids. This week there is 200 kids. Radio, how did you find out this info? Did they just "announce" it or did you ask? I'm not suprised at "spring break" weeks the ships would be "over run" with ankle biters, school kids and teens. Most schools are not yet "out" at the end of May, which is why I cruise then with my kids. I know FL schools usually get out Mid May but d/t the hurricanes are getting out later in some districts. It seems I WILL get to meet the infamous Capt Johnny on the May 22nd Mariner! :) Thanks SO much for letting us "cruise with you!" brn2crz Posted April 15, 2005 #204 Share Posted April 15, 2005 Love to read your reports. Especially love the shot of the Rhapsody "below" you in Coz.That last balcony on 7,just above the lifeboats, has been our room the past 3 years. In Oct I too, will get to look "down" at Rhapsody... Rhapsody is a great ship....But I am ready for the Mariner..and new ports of call (Eastern) Thanks again.Great fun.
Gorilla579 Posted April 15, 2005 #205 Share Posted April 15, 2005 Thank you so much for taking the time to share your cruise experience. It helps make October seem so much closer. I have a question on "ship's time" specific to the Mariner and Cozumel. When you go to Cozumel will you let me know if ship's time is Port Canaveral time or local time? Our October itinerary was changed to have us dock in Cozumel at 07:00. If that's Port Canaveral time then it will be 06:00 local time. That's seems a little early. Again. Thanks! I hung out there all day....I ate lunch at La Laguna, inside the park. I walked the Botanical Gardens, but missed the SeaLion show. I then went down to La Ceiba, a dive resort which was nice. I finished off my day walking around the shops downtown and at the pier. I thought about taking the ferry over to Playa del Carmen....bot didn't want to chance missing the ship. Next time I might take an excursion. It was a long day...very hot ! When I got back to the ship..I took a quick nap. We are still in port, and we are scheduled to leave at 7PM. boingy300 Posted April 16, 2005 #219 Share Posted April 16, 2005 Radio do you know if there is a way to move a M&M time. I noticed most are 1pm Monday at Sea, but there's alot going on at 1pm! Do you have any advice on how to move the M&M to 11am? I know you go to a lot of M&Ms. Thanks for any advice, and for the great job you are doing! Adventure Girl Posted April 16, 2005 #220 Share Posted April 16, 2005 Radio: This must be a sad day for you....the party is coming to an end. Thanks again for all of the questions you sought the answers to for us, and for the wonderful photos. You are the best! boingy300: We tried to have our meet & mingle time changed when we sailed on the Mariner in November. I agree, 1 pm on a sea day...too much going on at the same time...belly flop contest, casino tournament, etc. We sent an email to Laura Sterling here at cruise critic and she said the meet & mingles are only rescheduled if the time conflicts with a day in port...when most people would be off of the ship. So we have to stick with the 1 pm on the day at sea. But, the Meet & Mingle on the Mariner is held at Ellington's, which has a clear view to the pool deck so you can see the belly flop contest. Get out there!
LLM Posted April 16, 2005 #221 Share Posted April 16, 2005 Radio, Thank you for all of your replies. You are awesome! I noticed in the pictures that you took at Chankanaab Park that there didn't seem to be very many people there. Were there really not alot of people there or did you just happen to get pics in less crowed areas? Also there apears to be a wall of some sort between the sand and the water. Is it like this the whole way? Enjoy your last day. I hope the weather is beautiful. Thanks! Lisa
Jacquelyn11 Posted April 16, 2005 #222 Share Posted April 16, 2005 I found this guide on line. http://www.cozumelinsider.com/Beaches I want to find a good beach with a good freshwater pool, "water toys" , hammocks and shaded chairs. I would rather find a "free" beach for this, but would be willing to pay if the quality is much better. How much is the entrance fee at the beachs on average? Thanks for your help! Hope your enjoying your sea day! Jacquelyn :D

Wish they'd be more accomodating, but we are already travelling w/ a lg. group and have too many other plans. That's a shame they have such a lousy time for the M&M. I can buy the silly aqua mouse on Ebay for $20. Oh,well- I'm "getting out there", alright! Thanks for the info. Rare Radio Posted April 16, 2005 Author #225 Share Posted April 16, 2005 crusingchicks....I am thinking of going on the Horizon to Bermuda on June 4. LLM...There were tons of people there...I guess that whenI got there around 11am, there weren't many though. tinmantam...Being a Diamond member, gets you a couple of things delivered to your cabin on the two formal nights. Its the Concierge lounge that makes it for me. Yuri Perez in still the Concierge.....she is wonderful. shanter10yrs...I have been to Paridise Beach and loved it...It has a nicer beach there, but is much smaller that Chankanaab. The beach next store to Paradise is San Francisco beach which also has a pool. ------------------------------------------------------- Hello Everyone..... Well we had a few problems today....My Cybercabin Connection has been dead since 5am this morning. It just now started working again. The Guest Relations were very nice, they said I could use Royal Caribbean On Line (Internet Cafe), and they would issue a credit for all of my minutes...I told them is was nice to offer, but using Cybercabin is the only way to post photos...I did a restore on my computer and it seems to be up for now. We made a syop today about 5 miles off the coast of Key West, to have 2 sick passengers taken aboard a Coast Guard vessel. They said they couldn't do an airlift because there were no helicopters available. It took about 1 hour for them to take the sick passengers aboard...I didn't hear what was wrong with them. I hope they will be alright. Tonight of course is the Farewell Variety Show, and the Enchanted Knights Parade. It is also the night for the Karaoke Championship Finals and the Jazz Caberet show. The free movies are "The Stepford Wives" and "Laws of Attraction" I must say that this has been a most relaxing cruise. Posting Live reports is fun for me and I really enjoy doing it. When I first started cruising in 1990, no one was doing "live" reports....and I think that alot of people can find out info on their ship, intinerary, rules etc... Anyway....Here are a few more pics from Cozumel yesterday....
