toester74 Posted January 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2012 Hi Everyone Hope you can help We are starting our Carribean cruise in Barbados on 13th Jan with the Ventura - and we are looking for some help from experienced hands on how to spend a nice day as we are quite inexperienced and their seems so much to do Our retired parents are joining us, and although we are all pretty active, snorkelling or active sports arent really an option. Instead we are looking for ideas that we could arrange ourselves (as the crusie tours can be so expensive) followed by a nice afternoon on a really beautiful beach Could any experts lend a hand - we'd really appreciate any help
cruiseapril Posted January 3, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Carlisle Bay is an area near the port which has a nice beach and good swimming. There are several beach resorts mentioned on this forum which are on Carlisle Bay. We were at Harbour Lights in April and that is not far from the Hilton. Check out the resort websites on Carlisle Bay.
swigso Posted January 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2012 The Hilton charges $35 per person which includes Lunch /drink/use of all the facilities, pool, beach, towels and Sun beds. The beach there is lovely and it is about 20 mins From the port. It will cost about $5pp each way in a taxi. The staff are really friendly and the pool area is really nice.
