I am prone to seasickness, and am wondering how far from shore this is and if I should be concerned about getting seasick. Can you see the shore from stingray city? mcanuck Posted April 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2005 The boat ride is a leisurely 15-20 minute ride.Stingray city is on a sandbar ddle of a bay area which is protected by the reef.You can see land but you are in the middle of the open water.I get sea sick and this trip did not bother me what so ever. The boats are open, I sat on the deck and felt no motion sickness whatsoever.The seas were not rough that day even though there was a slight breeze.They take there time getting out there so you are not jostled around.Go for it,at worst all you have to lose is your lunch(lol).It is well worth the trip.
