Mayfield Falls...anyone been there?

My husband and I are taking a 5 night Western Caribbean cruise at the end of January and wondered if any of you had ventured to Mayfield Falls. We will be at the port of Falmouth so wondered about how the best way to get there is. I know it is some distance away but if any of you have been there please advise the best mode of transportation and cost as this is one destination that isn't offered as a shore excursion. Thanks in advance for any advice and help.

I've been there, but I went while on a land vacation there in Negril. It's located northeast of Savannah-la-Mar so back up toward Falmouth. I would imagine it being about an hour or so ride in either direction. I would look for a tour company (non-ship sponsored) that can take you there. It's AWESOME and i highly recommend it. It was the highlight of our week long trip to Jamaica.

 

Well worth looking into someone who does a tour there!!!

We've taken this tour twice and it was great - much better and less crowded than Dunns River Falls.

Thanks for the replies...can you comment on the specific tours that took you there? What companies? Can you arrange for this tour after getting off the ship at Falmouth? In researching this we found out that to receive a fairly decent price it means us arranging for a larger group and it is only myself and hubby who are going. I had hoped it was a tour the ship was offering but no such luck.

We use Trevor Hudlin every time we are in Jamacia - it's been a couple of years since we've been so I don't still have info on how to contact him but you can probably google him or search these boards and get contact information. He's fantastic and will arrange a tour to custom fit your needs.
