Carl Posted April 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2005 Does RCI include your tips on your final bill when you leave? What is the difference between the head waiter, waiter and the assisant waiter? Carl
jonsmom Posted April 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2005 Carl, RCCL does not include tips in the final bill. The head waiter I beleive is the Maitre'D The waiter is the person who serves you your food and his asssistant is the one who gets you drinks, coffee, etc.
spdfrk Posted April 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2005 There are several head waiters, each responsible for a large group of tables. Tips are not automatically added but you can choose to put them on your account. A couple of nights before your return they will leave a form in your room to fill out. You can only use this if you intend to tip according to their guide lines. Of course you can always add a little cash with it if you want. They will leave you envelopes in your room with a voucher for each person you're tipping.
Carl Posted April 12, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted April 12, 2005 One more question, Do you tip the Maitre'D if you do not use his services? Thanks for your help, My ship sails this Sunday Carl
4merlurker Posted April 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted April 12, 2005 If you choose the ships "tipping voucher" system EVERYONE gets tipped. If you choose to tip in cash then honestly it's between you and whomever you decide deserves tipping.

Thanks for your help, My ship sails this Sunday Carl If I have had really good service in the dining room then I tip him regardless of if he has done anything for me personally. Really up to you. Retired not Expired Posted April 12, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2005 One more question, Do you tip the Maitre'D if you do not use his services? Thanks for your help, My ship sails this Sunday Carl Much of what a Maitre'D does is behind the scene. If I enjoyed my dining, he did his job. If I don't enjoy, chances are he didn't. The amount of my tip to him/her is based on that. But I don't lower it based one a one time problem. One time could be because the waiter or food preparer is having a rough day and not due to him/her.
