Nutellaonaspoon Posted January 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2012 Hi all! So happy to have discovered this forum! I've never been on a cruise and we're planning on cruising on the Carnival Inspiration for 4 days to Baja, Mexico at the end of the month. We'll have a 3 year old (hurray camp carnival!) and a 9 month old. Based on what I'm seeing, there's limited babysitting for the 9 month old, yet he would be restricted from many activities on the cruise (pool, casino, certain shows). Please tell me I'm not crazy for taking a 9 month old! Can you share some success stories about cruising on Carnival with an infant around that age? Can you share some of the activities that you were able to do on the boat as well as on shore? Thanks!
junmatno Posted January 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2012 This is going to be us in June 2013, we'll have a 9 month old that is due this September....So i'm interested in any advice, etc. people can offer. I was thinking about carrying him/her around in one of those pappoose front packs....Our other kids are older, they will be 18, 14, and 6.....you aren't crazy, just go in with an open mind, I'm not a big pool person, and you can't take the kids to the pool if they are in diapers anyway. They do have early playtime if you want to use the room before they open...Check the fun times when you get on the ship and take a walk to the playroom. B_Mc Posted January 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We did a Royal Caribbean trip with a 10 month old and loved it! He slept in a pack 'n play provided by the ship and enjoyed seeing all the new sights and sounds from his stroller. Our favourite activity was to let him splash around in his inflatable bathtub out on the pool deck or on our balcony. We took turns staying in the cabin with a sleeping baby and going out to enjoy what the ship had to offer - me, the spa; DH, the casino! Hope you have a great trip. TheCalicoCat Posted January 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2012 We waited until our son was two - but treat the cruise like you would be at home... Except that someone else is cooking, doing the dishes, etc.
