hammsz Posted January 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I know the island is really really nice now with millions in upgrades. Did they add jet skis as an option, I know of parasailing and non motorized stuff. Going there next month just curious. Thanks!!
itravelalot Posted January 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2012 As of two weeks ago they did not have them.
hammsz Posted January 16, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted January 16, 2012 thats cool!! thanks for the info, they could make money by renting them for 100 bucks an hour. I rented one in key west and then went back home and bought a brand new one.
itravelalot Posted January 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2012 They are still working on the island so who knows what else they may when completed.. Based on every other beach location and the popularity if jet skis it seems like a given that at some point they will have them.

mchelle77 Posted January 16, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2012 My cruise is the end of April and they're showing wave runners as an option on shorex for my trip ... aren't wave runners and jet skis the same thing? $99 for a single rider, times available are 11:30, 12:30 and 1:30. asand5554 Posted January 16, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2012 Just returned from GSC - our son and his girlfriend did the Waverunner excursion. It was a guided tour, with some narrative regarding sealife, area, etc. Due to tides, they can't always run all the times scheduled. They had a great time. Rare OttawaJohn Posted January 16, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2012 I wonder if you need a drivers license to use them. I hate that on some other islands, never understood what my ability to parallel park has to do with boating on the ocean :)
macmikey Posted May 6, 2012 #9 Share Posted May 6, 2012 Jst came back from sky trip to Bahamas. They do have them, what was said before is true, and they did not ask for a license but you had to be 16 or older. It was fun. Up to 40 at times flying over the ocean. Well worth the cost. Rare CTCruiser001 Posted May 6, 2012 #10 Share Posted May 6, 2012 If you look at the excursions at NCL.com you'll see they have wave-runners at GSC...Below is a cut/paste of the description...Note that it states you must be 18 years of age and have a drivers license, unlike what some other posters here have said. They also offer tours with 2 guests (driver and passenger). The single rider tour is $99 & the double rider tour is $149. Wave Runner Tour - Single (Driver Only) Take a 45-minute guided adventure through the Berry Islands, neighboring Great Stirrup Cay. Some of the sights you may see include the Lighthouse at Great Stirrup Cay, Slaughter Harbor and the abandoned island community of Cistern Cay. Note: This tour is for single drivers only. Participants must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Maximum 1 person (driver) per water craft. The maximum weight must not exceed 450 lbs. time2cruise1 Posted May 6, 2012 #11 Share Posted May 6, 2012 I did the wave runner tour in November. It was fun. If you know what your doing and want to run fast start in the front of the pack in this guided tour. Keeping up with the lead guide in 3-4 swells was exhilarating. We did stop from time to time for 10 minutes or so to let the other guides and the timid drivers catch up. So very interesting history shared of the nearest island was shared. 10 years of small planes from Columbia and go fast boats headed to Miami.
