Snorkel and beach day

First time cruiser with wife and kids aged 9 and 10. Would like to go to a good beach with our own snorkel gear. Should we book an excursion or simply take a cab or minibus? What beach should we go to? Are there chairs for rent and shade? Can lied vests be rented?

You should be good with taking a cab. We enjoyed snorkeling at Smith Cove but are trying some spots on Seven Mile Beach this time around. Seems like Cemetery Beach/Reef is a good spot for both beach snorkeling and sunbathing. Lots of different places on Seven Mile Beach. You can tell your cab driver the kind of things you want, and they will drop you at an appropriate spot.

 

I doubt you will be able to rent life vests.
