I read somewhere on the boards that it was $16 per cab. Sorry, don't remember the distance from the airport to the pier.

I that per person or for the whole Taxi and is there extra for the suit cases??

Also can you set up Suttle services cheaper ?? (mini Van)

The San Juan taxi system is extremely well-organized. At the airport, you just tell the dispatcher where you are going, he/she fills out a paper, you give it to the driver and you're off. You already know what the price is before you get in. We paid $17 for a taxi (that's for 2 people, not per person) for a ride from the airport to the pier (Pan American for Golden Princess). There was also a 50 cent extra charge for each piece of luggage.

Where is this dispatcher located? In baggage claim?

Thanks for the info!

After you leave baggage claim and exit the airport you will see the taxis lined up. The dispatcher has a booth set up. Its easy to spot, after you get your bags just follow the crowd, most will be headed in that direction.

How far and expensive is it to take a cab from the airport in San Juan to the cruise ship terminal? What is the estimated time of trip?

Taxis are regulated on a zone basis. The cost is per person plus and an additive cost per bag. I believe the cost from airport to cruise ship docks will be in the $15-$20 range for two people with four bags and take about 20 minutes (depending on traffic). Taxis will be anything from a sedan to a full size van. Mini-vans seem to be the most popular.

From the baggage area, follow the signs to "ground transportation". There will be a kiosk right outside the door where you will tell the dispatcher where you want to go, how many people and how many bags. All this information is written on a dispatch form, along with the total price, and given to you. Tipping is optional but appreciated.

We cruised on Princess and had the exact same process at the Pan Am dock when we returned. The dispatcher was right outside the terminal.
