NCL Dawn Dominican excursion

NCL Dawn has 2 excursions to Cayo Levantado: one is $69 and is called Cayo Levantado Beach Escape Plus; the other is $49 and simply called Cayo Levantado Beach Escape. Does anyone know what the difference in these 2 excursions? The description listed for each reads essentially the same. Thanks in advance

We just sailed the Dawn. Not sure the difference between those excursions but I do know that they were tendering people for free to the island. Apparently they've been doing this for awhile - selling excursions and then giving refunds and taking people to the island for free. Not sure why they are doing this, but they are.

Here is the letter we received onboard regarding Cayo Levantado. It was free on our cruise too... nobody seems to know how long it will last.

I believe the $69 one includes access to snorkeling equipment and maybe other watersports equipment. But I also think these items are available for rent (with cash) while you're on the island.

 

As Traveling_Dragon noted, the Dawn has been running tenders to Cayo Levantado for free lately. I don't think Cayo ever sells out, so I'd recommend waiting until you're on board if you want to see whether or not Cayo will be a free option for your sailing.

 

If you're interested in a tour, I did the Rustic Samana and Las Terrenas tour during the Jan. 4 sailing, and I enjoyed it.

Thanks everybody!!! Mike you are right - the $69 includes chair, snorkeling equipment, kayaks, etc - I called NCL shore excursion line. As a side note, Mike you had a GREAT review of the Dawn - very helpful!!!! :D
