vigmar2 Posted January 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2012 Hello, We will be in Montego Bay in 4 weeks and are looking for an excursion to do once our cruise ship docks. Any advice as to a good day tour that would include not just the beaches and falls but possibly also a plantation and some city sights? We are interested in learning about the history of the city as opposed to just a beach day. A private tour or semi-private tour would be great. We are a group of 5. Thanks for any help/advice you can give us!
2-laner Posted January 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Well, it was not a private tour. We booked it through the ship. But, we enjoyed the Croydon Plantation tour we toke last Wednesday when we were there. Along the way to this "mountain" plantation, our guide talked about the island. It's people and their life styles. Just a little about everything. Very open to questions. Very informative. Up at the plantation, there was a wealth of information on everything from a multitude of fruits (pineapple heaven - taste tests :)) coffee growing, honey productions; all the way to weather, their government, etc. Relaxing pace. Just right for our family. Kids might find it a bit boring at time, but, they will love the samples of fruit, drinks and of course the Jamaican lunch provided.
