Rare John Bull Posted February 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2012 Does anybody know please what the british guidelines are for vaccinations to the following countriesSingapore Vietnam Thailand China Japan Hong Kong South Korea Thanks for any info Here's the National Health website re innoculations. http://www.nathnac.org/travel/index.htm Basically innoculations fall into 2 groups: Advisory. For your own health. Mainly ensuring that you are up-to-date on all innoculations that you should already have, regardless of whether you travel at all. TB, Hep A etc. Mandatory. For the health of yourselves & anyone who comes into contact with you. Countries may require visitors who have recently travelled to countries where a disease is endemic to provide proof that they have been innoculated. An example is a Yellow Fever innoculation or exemption certificate. The website lists those countries where a disease is endemic & those countries which require a certificate. Note: there's no innoculation against malaria, prevention is prescription tablets (the type varies according to where you are travelling), mosquito deterrants such as aerosol sprays, and advice re clothing etc. I doubt you'll need any mandatory innoculations for your itinerary, but this isn't the sort of advice you should take from fellow-travellers, take it from the health professionals. And a lot will depend on your medical history, exactly where in a given country you are going (incl inland excursions) & whether your ship over-nites in port. So phone your doctor's surgery nurse & fix an appointment. Take along your itinerary. Its very simple. And check if your cruise-line has any requirements Bon voyage JB :)
