Upgrading to higher deck

We're sailing March 18th on the Victory and have received an offer to upgrade to a higher deck level. We are booked on the Upper Deck (level 6) and can upgrade to Lido Deck (level 9) for an additional $40. Pros and cons, anyone?

Deck 6 is above the Premenade and can me noisy. For $40, I'd be moving on up! You will like deck 9 because you can walk from your room right out to the lido deck and front pools!

I was on the Victory a few years ago on deck 7 in a suite cabin and preferred to stay right on deck 7 mid-ship. My friends were on the Lido deck and complained about the noise from the music at the pool on their balcony. And my sister and her husband were on deck 6 mid-ship just above the music and entrance to the casino and between 6-9 pm, they could hear the music from the guitar player and band through the floor.

Thanks for the input. We've moved from mid ship on level six to the front of the ship on level nine. This move also changed us from one side of the ship to the other. We will like the fact that we are on the pool level!

unless i would be going from inside to ov or ov to balcony I would stay put.

deck 9 is good, as you still have cabins above you. you don't want to be below the gym.

 

it's nice to stroll right out to the pool without needing the stairs or elevator!

$40 is a bargain to move to the Lido deck. We've had many Lido deck cabins and LOVE them!! We have never heard noise from bands nor the big screen. We love being so close to the pools and all the activities. The Lido deck can also be much quieter because there are fewer cabins so you will see much less foot traffic.

 

I think you got a great deal and made a very smart move.
