DeloreanGirl Posted February 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2012 Hi all -- I know this thread is for mostly Houston and Galveston, but I had a question about American Airlines terminals at Dallas for those who are local. We are doing a British Isles cruise and will be flying from California. We hae 1 stop in Dallas, with only a 1:05 layover between planes which is tight. I know for a fact that our second plane leaves from Terminal D. If our first plane lands at Terminal A or C, will we have enough time to hop on the tram over to the next terminal in one hour? Or is this pushing it? Thanks in advance!

So just get on it & head to Terminal D. It is the newest & has the most shops & everything else. Doubt you will arrive in Terminal A as it is under renovation. nlt46 Posted February 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2012 You can make it in an hour if the 1st plane is on time. The new people mover is very fast. You don't even sit down; it just zooms along. Have a great time. Nancy
DeloreanGirl Posted February 7, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted February 7, 2012 Thanks Nancy & Airwolf! I'll look around to see if there'sa nother itinerary out there, but for now, this one is perfect all around except for that one connection. Is Terminal D the "international" terminal? If I'm flying from CA but going TO London Heathrow, would I have to do anything extra? I'm hoping to get off the first plane, take the tram over quickly, and get ready to board the next plane or grab a quick bite to eat. Thanks! DFW Airwolf Posted February 8, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2012 YES D is the new international terminal. Just a FYI, all the shops & such are in the middle of the Terminal, so not sure what gate you will be going out of. But keep that in mind when you want a snack or such. DeloreanGirl Posted February 8, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted February 8, 2012 Thanks, all. I ended up picking a flight that left me with a 3 hour layover at DFW. I'd rather have more time to eat and walk around than to be running to a plane within an hour.
JPTexan82 Posted February 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2012 Yes you can make it. Just hope your first leg is not late leaving and there is no weather issues here in Texas. I have made many connections here at DFW before I moved here.
Barsnikel Posted February 11, 2012 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2012 You won't have any problems getting around DFW.. even with the 1 hour layover, you would have been fine. With a 3 hour, you'll have time for lunch if you want
