Recent photos of the Norway and POA

Recommended Posts

Here is a link that was posted and thought that I would pass along. It shows recent photos of the Norway and POA.

The Norway still looks great. She looks as though she is awaiting her next group of passengers.

On the other hand and this is just my opinion but the Pride of America is one ugly ship from the exterior. She has no bow to speak of and to me just looks like a sets of Lego blocks. I know that she will be popular with many people but she is not one of my favorites to look at.

Gator,

Thanks for the link. I agree that POA looks heavy in the front...must be a design that mazimizes space in the superstructure for, of course, more guest cabins.

These mass market designs are obviously keeping pax inside and away from the ocean. We are about to book STAR which looks like a wonderful ship. However, a look at the deck plan lets me know how much an interior ship she is. Aside from the wrap prom there is very little outside deck until you go to the top.

I apreciate ships that have aft and foreward exposure on many levels. The way Norwegian (and Carnival, etc) is building them, aft and forward on most decks have balcony cabins or interior common rooms with windows.
