Need to make a decision...

Recommended Posts

My husband and I have sailed Royal before and I loved it. We were on Monarch of the seas and had a great time. We have also sailed carnival. It was ok but in my oppinion it didn't compare to RCL. This year we are booked on the NCL dawn.

**My indecision has NOTHING to do with this whole wave drama.**

After booking with NCL my husband and I noticed the Grandure (sp?) going out of Boston and were more impressed with it's ports of call than that of the Dawn. The RCL 9 night almost has me ready to cancle with NCL and book Royal again but my one hang up is with the dineing options. I noticed there was only one dineing room and no specialty resturants. The one thing that interested me in NCL was the vast menu options and avaliability of 24 hour food. My husband and are are late eaters and total night owls (also picky eaters) The Dawn seemed to have so much more to offer in the way of food options, many no extra charge places to eat (ice cream - coffee shop- 24 hr dinner) Could someone please give me some info on the Grandure that would seal my oppinion to change ships????

Thanx for the info!

I know where you are coming from.We just got off the Grandeur and although the food was very good to excellent you are quite limited. We travelled with 2 other couples that like the early seating. My husband and I would prefer the later seating but majority ruled. The service was so good and we never felt rushed but we were done with dinner by 7:15.That left an huge amount of time before the show.We have considered NCL because of the dining options. My husband and I are both nite owls and quite often we were turning in early because there is not a whole lot to keep you up on the Grandeur. Please dont take that as a big negative...we had a wonderful time but if dining options and different schedules will limit you.that being said...I think you should give NCL a try...and let us know how it is...

Well, I have sailed the Grandeur 5 times and it is one of my favorite ships. They have the nicest crew. There are plenty of food options, you will not go hungry. The main dining room, Windjammer buffet, room service, afternoon snacks and mid night buffets or snacks and the solarium. If you like the ports better, I would go for it. The casino is open for the night owls, lol
