FMCowboy Posted February 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2012 We will be in Nassau in a few weeks, get in around noon, leave at midnight. Looking to have fun on a budget and not at the beach or straw market :). Been there done that. Anyone have some suggestions? Any local. Places to drink and.have lunch? Any cheap excursion, fun excursions? Thx

Willbcruisin Posted February 26, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Looks great. Any idea how far from where the ship docks? We sail in on Dream and are only in port a short time. dock at 8am and all aboard at 1:30pm. Thanks!
CleoV Posted February 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Fish Fry is a 30 minute stroll (20 if you hoof it) from the docks. You might enjoy the Frommer's Walking tour (there's a thread on it here with a link, or do a quick search). We found it was a good way to see more of the area when you've done the straw market/beach thing before. And it's free. Editing to say, plan about 2 hours or so for the walking tour. I wouldn't try to do Fish Fry and the walking tour, but there are some interesting restaurants along the way. Not sure when Fish Fry gears up for lunch, but I would be somewhat concerned about getting back to the ship on time if you visit for lunch, as service can be painfully slow.
