teen's curfew

Last cruise, my DD and I traveled with my best friend and her DD. They are 13yo and we gave them a 1am curfew. They carried a walkie-talkie that worked ok and often we'd come in after the casino or an adult show to find them eating something they'd ordered from room service. They were often too tired to stay out late.

If your kid is getting ready to go off to college, a curfew seems a bit silly.

Not if you're a mom of a 16yr. old and taking a friend of his that's also 16. Have you been on a cruise ship lately? There are teens roaming around until 3, 4, 5a. I think 2a is a reasonable curfew to get out of their 1a teen club and still have time to get something to eat and hang a bit. What do 16yr-old need to be doing out much later than that!?:)

My 18 yr old DD asked what her curfew will be next week on the cruise. I told her since you love your sleep and want to go on excursions in every port. Just keep that in mind about how late you want to stay up and then having to get up early in the morning. :)
