Calanques out of Marseille

Hi..cruising to marseille in June...anyone gone on a boat tour to see the calanques? Need recommendation on whether to reserve or wait til I arrive at port for best value? I've looked into blue attractions so far..thanks

We had an independent day tour that covered Cassis and Aix en provence a few years back. Cassis is charming and you just get there and get on a boat that is going to the Calanques and when it is full it heads out. A nice day and we enjoyed both the town of Cassis and the Calanques and did not need a reservation for a particular time.

You can visit the calanques by boat starting either in Marseille or Cassis. In your case, I would recommend starting in Marseille, as otherwise you will lose a lot of time travelling over to Cassis (which is a bit tricky to get to by public transport).

 

In either case, you don't need to reserve. Just go down to the Old Port (Marseille) or the harbourfront in Cassis and buy a ticket. Tours leave very regularly throughout the day. More information about the calanques here:
