randych Posted April 22, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2005 My wife and I are going to be in Ketchikan on May 25th (can't wait!), and are looking for a sportsbar-type place that might be showing some good ol' northwest baseball. I'll probably need a baseball fix about then, and wouldn't mind spending an hour watching the Mariners and enjoying a cold Alakan Amber (or two). Anyone know of local watering hole that might be showing the M's game? Maybe alaskandude or bearbait (or anyone else) can chime in. Thanks! bearbait Posted April 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2005 You might try "Steamers" it's right on the dock. Not really any what I would call dedicated sports bars. But there are plenty of "bars" and they all have TV's. If the Mariners are on just ask them to change the channel. Since we are so close to Seattle we get all the network TV stations plus the usual ESPN etc. Pretty nice place to hang and visit with some real "locals". randych Posted April 22, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted April 22, 2005 Thanks, bearbait! Steamers sounds perfect. I figured M's games would be available, but wanted to make sure so I could plan accordingly :D
alaskandude Posted April 22, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2005 Sourdough Bar is right on the dock and you can meet some local Mariner fans.
randych Posted April 23, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted April 23, 2005 Hmmm, I might just need to check out both of them. Nice to know I can find some other Mariner fans up there.
bearbait Posted April 23, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2005 There are a lot of bars in Ketchikan. The Sourdough would really introduce you to some locals. Some of who will let you buy them many drinks as well as a few rounds for the house. Steamers seems to be a little more up scale. Plus the view isn't too bad either. It's up on the 3rd floor and over looks the docks.
