Benefits on booking onboard

What are the advantages of booking your next cruise on board? If you get a discount can you book more than 1 room at that discount? My parents are going on a cruise in April and we are thinking about doing a family cruise in late May or June and will need a total of 4 cabins.

The only advantage I could think of is when you buy a FCC and get the OBC on your next cruise. I think these can only be purchased onboard.

Friends & family certificates are only available when you book on board! ($100 free OBC for friends and family when they book the same cruise.)

First, welcome to Cruise Critic!!!

 

To answer your question you can either purchase a Future Cruise Certificate (otherwise known on here as a FCC) and that cost $100. You then can immediately redeem it on the cruise you purchase and it takes $100 off the end balance (not your deposit) and gives you On Board Credit (OBC) based on the length of your cruise. You do not get any OBC for 4 day or shorter cruises so keep that in mind.

 

However you can also book on board and if you have famly at home that will book the SAME cruise, you can book and get Friends and Family Vouchers (F&F voucher). These are good for a limited time but it allows your family or whoever you give the cert. to to book the same cruise at the same rate as you. So if you book and the price happens to go up between getting home and them being able to book, they still pay the same price you did :D

 

You can also combine these two and purchase and FCC to go with the cruise you book and get the vouchers for, so that you have it all.
