KuffMUp Posted March 13, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2012 Never been but going in Nov. From what I have seen here for local food go to Fish Fry. By cab, around $4 pp. On the bus (they have a funny name I can't remember) it is $1.25. Take the #10. Tell them where you are going they will let you know when you are there. If in reasonable shape, a walk there is around 20 to 30 minutes. Exit the port to the right and head towards Senor Frogs and the Sheraton. Keep walking on the sidewalk all the way around passing Junkanoo Beach. About 4 blocks beyond Junkanoo Beach is the Fish Fry. It is a strip of shacks/shanties/restaurants where the locals eat. If there on Sunday, they won't open till 1100 when everyone is out of church. You can find menus online by searching Goldies Nassau or Twin Brothers Nassau. Or go to TripAdviser and search for restaurants in Nassau for names of other ones. On TripAdviser all restaurants will be listed but you can narrow it down to Arawak Cay which is where the strip of restaurants is. A big tip here is remember you are on vacation. You are now on Island Time!!! They get to it when they get to it. You will see complaints about slow service. They cook your meal to order so you may have a wait. Sit back and relax!
