Service charge/tipping.

Can someone explain how the service charge works in the pay restaurants? I am aware that I have already paid tips for all service in all restaurants with my DSC, but is the up-charge going to the servers? Do people often tip extra in the pay restaurants? I only have RC in my experience, and when we ate at the steak house for instance the up-charge was called a "service charge" and was considered a tip, but we also tipped a bit more on top of that generally.

The DSC covers your upcharge restaurants as well. So it is an individual choice whether you leave above and beyond that.

I always tip a bit more in the specialty restaurants.

In the specialty restaurants, I tip based on service. Sometimes I add extra $$ and other times I do not. Also, keep in mind that if you order any drinks or a bottle of wine, there is an automatic 15% gratuity added to that bill.

You should not feel obligated to tip extra in the surcharge restaurants. Follow your conscience based on the service rendered. I have often left nothing and sometimes $5-10pp.
