berniem22 Posted April 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2005 PG has 3 restaurants for dinner. The main dining room and 2 where you need reservations. How quickly do they get booked up and what are they like. Is the food the same in all of the restaurants?
Call me Ishmael Posted April 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 24, 2005 No the food is not the same. There is a dinner service in the evening outside where the lunch buffet is served. The emphasis is on grilled food. The night we ate there we had "surf and turf" (lobster and steak). It is a much more limited menu than the menu in the main dining room. It is very nice to sit outside in the evening when the weather is nice; it is a much more casual dining experience than the other two. The speciality restaurant, Apicius, has a french menu that did not change during the two weeks. If you like French food you will find this venue fabulous. There are 4 or 5 choices for appetizer, entree and dessert. The main dining room has a wider range of menu options and variations from day to day. The french restaurant is most likely to get booked. Make your reservation as soon as you can or, if you have a butler, tell him immediately. There's also the prospect of cancellations later in the week. We ate in the french restaurant 3 times during 2 weeks. We cancelled our 4th reservation because we had tried everything of interest on the menu.
